Install

Windows

1. Download the Windows installer (MSI). If you do not want to write into the system, download the portable zip and unzip it.
2. If Windows says it “protected your PC”: tap More info, then Run anyway. That is SmartScreen, not a failed install.
3. On first launch, pick the interface language. The left column is Devices / Timeline / Settings.
4. The computer must stay unlocked while you use it. Words cannot enter the lock screen or a password field.

On the same LAN, opening the desktop app starts the local service. If the firewall asks whether to allow it, allow it on private networks.
